To create a better you and live a positive life, let’s say it takes a little reprogramming. You’re learning how to think more positively, speak positively and break away from anything or anybody that brings negativity to the picture.
How we react to certain situations, can set the tone for a day and sometimes a week. Let’s say the traffic light turns green at a four-way stop. As you slowly start to excel, someone floors it through the red light and nearly clips your car. The first thing we want to do is scream, honk our horns and maybe show off some sign language skills.
Here’s where it gets tricky. You know how it feels when you lose your temper right? It’s almost another version of yourself. One stressful moment can turn into a spiritual inferno in a matter of seconds. Now we’re going to focus on stopping negativity in its tracks.
The next time something comes up that’s going to trigger a negative response, say something to yourself like “no”, “next” or simply take a deep breath. Recognize what’s happening and put out the fire before it starts. Saying a word or taking a deep breath will help slow down that negative flow. It diverts that negative thought and gives you a moment to reset.
Putting out a negative vibration is only going to attract more negative energy. So just like our blog about holding grudges and finding freedom in forgiving….this is just as important. Letting it go and not giving into anger is good for your heart, spirit, and mind.
Negative people and moments always seem like they’re dangling a baited hook waiting to snag the next person coming by. Just keep swimming. You’re working hard at having a better life. Recognize, acknowledge and never let anything invade that spiritual space that you’ve been working so hard to achieve.
Living a happier life, feeding your mental health, and wanting more for yourself is going to be a challenge. Learning how to properly handle those moments are key and why we’re here connecting at this moment.
The next time a negative event comes up. Thank it for the lesson and the test. Stay grateful and never let anything slow down your personal growth. YOU are always in control.
